Pathaan broke this trend which marked return of Shahrukh khan after many years on the box office. Shahrukh khan had a golden run at the box office in 2023 all of his movies combined brought in a total of 2668 crores. But this year till September 3rd only a handfull of movies have been succesfull like Recent success stree2, Munjya and shaitaan. As we can see from the above infographic that Total Gross worldwide box office collections in 2023 were Rupees 7266.4245 crores and till September 3rd 2024 These collections were Rupees 2719.07 Crores. In the year 2023 there were three major blockbusters Jawan, Pathan, and Animal which collected 1148.32 crores 1050.30 crores and 917.82 crores respectively. This year till September 3rd only one movie has been a Blockbuster that is Stree2 which has collected 723.13 crores. While there has been hits like Shaitaan and Munjya but they are not on the level of Animal or Jawan which are needed to push box office collections by a considerable amount. The total amount of box office collection in 2023 compared to 2024 till September 3rd is almost 2.8 times which is massive.
